'We have options': JI leader Hafiz Naeem remarks on protests

Karachi: Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, the Karachi leader of Jamaat-e-Islami, has described the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as a controlling institution, emphasizing that they have various options at their disposal for protests.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Naeem ur Rehman stated that they are prepared to stage demonstrations at the Governor House in Karachi and have other options such as Long March, Train March, and even a sit-in in Islamabad.
He highlighted that they intend to expose to the world that the electric mafia is the most significant mafia of all.
White-collar criminals in Karachi threaten over 30 million people, so they will escalate their movement to annul electric licenses.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman stated that when people protest against their own government, anarchy spreads.
He pointed out that when ministers are seen on social media platforms, people react strongly. Thus, they aim to prevent anarchy by organizing protests themselves.
He further commented on the situation, noting that during the first government, half of the ministers were abroad in places like Dubai, London, and the United States.
These same individuals return and exert control over Pakistan.
The statement comes in the context of ongoing protests against rising electricity tariffs and frequent power outages in Karachi, with various political and civil society groups expressing their grievances and demanding immediate relief.
