Vedant Patel said that Americans of Pakistani origin and other overseas Pakistanis are welcome to visit their motherland.

Washington: US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel dismissed reports of not granting visas or rejecting applications of US-Pakistanis.
During the press briefing, Deputy Spokesperson of US State Department was asked questions about the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and the cypher issue.
The journalist asked whether the US Congress asked for an investigation on cypher issue. In response to which the deputy spokesperson said: “We consult with the Congress partners on many issues, will not speak about any particular issue”.
Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel also stated that we are closely monitoring the situation. There is no justification in denying visas or rejecting applications of Pakistani-Americans, this is completely wrong and baseless.
He continued to say that Americans of Pakistani origin and other overseas Pakistanis are welcome to visit their motherland. Pakistan embassy continues to provide all possible consular assistance to the applicants including visas.
Vedant added that visas can be obtained from consulates in New York, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and visa applications are processed online 24 hours a day, 07 days a week.
