Prime Minister said: “Martyrs sacrificed their lives for the sake of God by defending nation and country”.


Islamabad: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar participated in the Defense and Martyrs Day ceremony in Shakarparian, Islamabad today (Wednesday).
The Prime Minister laid floral wreath at martyrs' memorial.
Addressing the ceremony, Anwaar-ul-Haq paid rich tribute to martyrs and lauded their sacrifices.
Prime Minister said: “Martyrs sacrificed their lives for the sake of God by defending nation and country”.
Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi was also present on the occasion.
On the other hand, a ceremony was also held at the shrines of Nishan-e-Haider holders Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed and Major Shabbir Shaheed on the occasion of Defense and Martyrs Day. Flowers were placed at the shrines of the two martyrs and Fatiha was recited.
A dignified ceremony of changing of the guards was held at the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal, the poet of the East, the painter of Pakistan in Lahore.
Corps Commander Lahore Syed Amir Raza was the special guest of the ceremony.
