Islamabad: In an effort to gain control over the electricity crisis, the Ministry of Energy has proposed the early closure of shops and businesses across the country.
According to sources within the Ministry of Energy, the proposal, which is under consideration, suggests implementing this measure from October to February.
Consultations have already begun with all Chambers of Commerce and trade organizations for the implementation of this proposal.
It is stated that all four provincial governments will be urged to act on this proposal, and legislation is being drafted to address the electricity crisis.
According to sources, this move is expected to save more than 1,500 megawatts of electricity daily.
