A notification has been released by the Federal Cabinet Division.


Islamabad: The federal government on Thursday announced a public holiday on the eve of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi that will fall on Friday.
According to sources, the government and semi-government institutions will remain closed on September 29.
The schools and other educational institutes will also remain closed on the eve of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi, an auspicious occasion that marks the birth of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).
A notification has been released by the Federal Cabinet Division.
Earlier, the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Abdul Khabeer Azad has announced that the Rabi-ul-Awwal moon was sighted on Saturday.
The Islamic month will commence from Sunday, September 17, and Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) would fall on September 29 (Friday).
Details indicate that the statement made after a committee meeting with Maulana Azad presiding.
In addition to this, zonal committee meetings were also held in each of the nation's major cities.
