Nagorno-Karabakh: A devastating explosion at an oil depot in the contested region of Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan, has left a grim toll in its wake, with 20 people confirmed dead and hundreds more injured, according to reports from local authorities.
The explosion occurred in the midst of ongoing military operations in the area by Azerbaijan, adding to the already volatile situation in the region.
Following the incident, approximately 300 individuals were rushed to local hospitals, with dozens of them listed in critical condition, as per media reports.
While the precise cause of the oil depot explosion remains undisclosed at this time, human rights organizations have estimated that the number of injuries sustained in the blast exceeds 200.
Local authorities have reported that 13 bodies were discovered at the site of the explosion, while 7 individuals succumbed to their injuries after being admitted to the hospital.
The Prime Minister of Armenia has described the situation as tantamount to genocide, raising concerns within the international community about the ongoing crisis in the region.
