Gilgit: The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday announced to launch an innovative and pioneering program aimed at fostering digital and financial literacy among primary school children.
The program, which is set to be implemented in 1100 primary schools across Gilgit-Baltistan, marks a significant milestone in the region's educational landscape.
This transformative initiative is set to benefit young learners by equipping them with essential skills to thrive in today's digital age and promoting financial inclusion, financial management, and critical life skills.
It underscores the government's commitment to nurturing a future-ready generation that can harness the power of technology and make informed financial decisions.
In a groundbreaking collaboration, the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has partnered with key stakeholders in the financial sector, including the State Bank of Pakistan, the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF), and Karandaaz Pakistan, to develop and execute this exceptional program.
In this programme, tailored learning materials and textbooks have been meticulously crafted to cater to the unique needs of primary school children. These materials will serve as invaluable resources to facilitate digital and financial literacy education.
Similarly, in order to ensure the successful implementation of the program, teachers in participating schools will receive comprehensive training. This training will empower them to effectively deliver digital and financial literacy lessons, fostering an engaging and dynamic learning environment.
Additionally, the program will introduce students to fundamental digital skills, enabling them to navigate the digital world confidently. This exposure will help bridge the digital divide and prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century.
Moreover, the Children will be educated on the principles of financial inclusion and management, enabling them to make informed decisions about money, savings, and investments from a young age.
Beyond digital and financial literacy, the program aims to instill critical life skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, and effective communication, which are essential for personal and professional success.
This groundbreaking initiative represents the first of its kind in Pakistan, reinforcing Gilgit-Baltistan's commitment to providing its youth with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
