Buzdar says violation of coronavirus SOPs during Eid holidays will not be tolerated
Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar has said that the violation of coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during Eid holidays will not be tolerated.
In a statement, CM Punjab said people’s cooperation in eliminating the coronavirus infection is of great importance.
The public must learn to live with Corona with caution, implement the steps and guidelines taken by the relevant agencies and departments in all cases.
“People should constantly adhere to SOPs because maintaining social distance is the only way to stay safe and healthy,” he said while instructing concerned authorities and departments to stay vigilant.
On the other hand, 66 cases were registered while 87 people were arrested over violation of coronavirus SOPs on the first day of Eid in the provincial capital.
As per DIG Operations, action was taken against 41 persons not wearing face masks while 25 cases were registered for violation of other SOPs.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,517 cases of coronavirus were reported while 48 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 19,384.
The total number of cases has reached 873,220.
As many as 780,438 patients have recovered from the disease with no critical cases.
