The Nepra Authority is scheduled to conduct a hearing on November 1st.

Islamabad: Consumers of electricity in Pakistan might soon have to bear an increased cost, with a potential surge of up to 55 paise per unit on the horizon.
This hike is contingent upon the approval of the monthly fuel price adjustment request that has recently been submitted to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra).
Nepra is set to deliberate on this request in a hearing scheduled for November 1, a process that will determine the fate of electricity prices in the near future.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has lodged the request for an increase, raising concerns among electricity consumers.
If the proposal receives Nepra's endorsement, consumers could face an additional financial burden of approximately PKR 8.37 billion for a single month.
According to the application submitted by CPPA, the month of September witnessed the sale of 12.92 billion units of electricity, while hydropower generation accounted for 37.55% of the total energy produced.
This represents a significant contribution to the country's electricity supply.
However, the application also highlights the substantial increase in power generation from Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) during the same month, marking an impressive surge of 15.95%.
In addition, electricity generation from furnace oil reached 1.80% in September.
