More than half of these bureaucrats are preparing to acquire foreign citizenship, says Khawaja Asif

(Web Desk): Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has made a major revelation about the country’s bureaucracy, stating that more than half of Pakistan’s bureaucrats have purchased properties in Portugal.
In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Defense Minister said that more than half of these bureaucrats are preparing to acquire foreign citizenship. He added that these are well-known bureaucrats — “crocodiles” who have embezzled billions and are now living comfortably in retirement.
In his post, Khawaja Asif further alleged that a bureaucrat close to former Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar received Rs4 billion just in gifts at his daughters’ wedding. That bureaucrat, too, is enjoying a relaxed retired life.
He went on to say, "Politicians only get the scraps left behind by bureaucrats — and get mocked for it."
The federal minister added that politicians don’t own plots or foreign citizenships — they have to contest elections, while this bureaucracy is what’s corrupting the land of Pakistan.
