The gas meter charges are likely to be increased from Rs10 to Rs400 per month.


Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet will meet today (Monday), reportedly.
According to details, a three-point agenda will be discussed in the ECC meeting, which is expected to approve the import of one million metric tons of wheat.
During the meeting, the sale price of natural gas for the year 2023-24 is likely to be approved and the tariff for domestic gas consumers will be increased by more than 170%.
Gas rates are also expected to increase for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), commercial consumers and cement factories.
According to media reports, proposal to give subsidy on captive power plants and gas price, new proposed gas sale price will be applied from October 2023.
It has also been reported that ECC will approve a technical grant of 484 million dollars for IRA.
The gas meter charges are likely to be increased from Rs10 to Rs400 per month and gas prices may be increased by 193%.
Reports told that in the petroleum division's summary, there is a possibility of increasing the gas tariff up to 193 percent and increasing the cost of gas up to 172 percent for domestic consumers.
