The interim federal cabinet has given a three-month extension to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman, led by Zaka Ashraf on Sunday.
The cabinet approved a notification from the Inter-Provincial Coordination Ministry stating that the PCB Management Committee's authority has been limited.
According to the notification, the PCB Management Committee will pick the Chairman and the Board of Governors; however, the Committee is not permitted to designate any high-level officials.
The Management Committee will handle daily operations; policy choices will not be made by them.
The notice also specifies that the PCB Management Committee will not be granted an extension of more than three months.
Furthermore, the Ashraf-led PCB Management Committee was established in July 2023 for a four-month term, and the PCB reported that the caretaker PM had granted a three-month extension in accordance with his patronage rights.
