Khawar Manika files petition against Imran, Bushra for illegal marriage

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s wife’s ex-husband Khawar Manika filed a petition against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi for illegal marriage case.

According to the details, a petition has been filed in Islamabad court in which Khawar said that Bushra Bibi got married to him in 1989 and both of them were living a happy married life.

Khawar Manika stated during the PTI sit-in in 2014, his sister-in-law introduced her to Chairman PTI, who started coming to his house under the guise of follower of his wife and visited the house several times even in his absence.

The position has been adopted in the appeal that after some time former Prime Minister Imran Khan started interfering in their married life, during which Zulfi Bukhari also used to visit his house several times with chairman PTI.

Civil Judge Qudratullah adjourned the hearing till November 28 while recording Khawar Manika's statement.

It is pertinent to note that earlier on yesterday, Judicial Magistrate Qudratullah accepted the petitioner Muhammad Hanif appeal to withdraw the marriage case.

Earlier on April 12, 2023, the statement was Mufti Saeed was recorded in the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad, who conducted the marriage of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.

The illegal marriage case against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi was scheduled for hearing on April 28. However, the petitioner Muhammad Hanif requested for an early hearing which was granted on the same day.

Mufti Muhammad Saeed Ahmed said in his statement that on January 1, 2018, Imran Khan contacted him on the call saying that he should again conduct his marriage with Bushra Bibi and go to Lahore for this purpose.

According to Mufti Mohammad Saeed, 'Imran Khan took me with him to a house located in Defense area of Lahore where a woman who was with Bushra Bibi revealed herself to be his sister. I asked this woman whether Bushra Bibi can be married legally. In response, the woman said that all the legal conditions of their marriage are complete and her marriage can be conducted.

He further said in the affidavit that on January 1, 2018, he solemnized the marriage of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi on the woman's assurance. Imran Khan said that Bushra Bibi was divorced (from ex-husband Khawar Manika) in November 2017.
