The petition also appealed that strict action should be taken against the violators of the court order.


Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Tuesday filed a contempt of court petition against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the Supreme Court.
According to the details, a contempt of court petition has been filed against the ECP for non-implementation of the decision to provide a level playing field to PTI.
The four chief secretaries, Inspector Generals (IG), interior secretary, election commission secretary have been made parties in the petition.
It has been stated in the petition that the Secretary ECP has not redressed the grievances of PTI despite the December 22 order.
The petition added that PTI candidates were harassed and arrested despite the clear orders of the Supreme Court.
In the petition, PTI said that Election Commission Punjab informed the ECP about the treatment of PTI candidates through a letter.
It was further said in the appeal that IG Punjab is the mastermind of the actions against PTI, therefore contempt of court action should be taken against the ECP for not following the decision of the Apex Court.
The petition also appealed that strict action should be taken against the violators of the court order.
