'SBP will remain closed for public dealing on January 01, 2024 as it will be observed as Bank Holiday’.


Lahore: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Friday announced that the bank will be closed for public dealing on January 1, 2024.
On the first day of the beginning of the New Year, banks across the country will remain closed and prepare the half-yearly accounts of their customers.
According to the statement issued by the official handle of the SBP on the social media platform X, ‘SBP will remain closed for public dealing on January 01, 2024 as it will be observed as Bank Holiday’ i.e. there will be no public transactions.

According to the State Bank spokesperson, all banks/development financial institutions/microfinance banks will remain closed for public transactions on the said date. However, all bank employees will be present in the office as usual.
