Canada offers special remote work visa for freelancers
Freelancers and high-tech professionals will be able to sit and work freely anywhere in Canada.
Ohio: Canada has offered a special remote work visa program to talented freelancers and digital nomads from around the world.
Canada has a huge workforce need in the high-tech sector. Few visa restrictions are being lifted to meet this requirement which aims to inspire the most talented young people from around the world to come to Canada.
The Canadian government has developed a new visa policy under which freelancers and ‘digital nomads’ will not even be obliged to come to the office and will work with more facilities.
Freelancers and high-tech professionals working from home will be granted visas with the title of "Independent Contractor". Such persons will be able to sit and work freely anywhere in Canada.
The Canadian government has to offer new and easier visas for freelancers and home-based workers as the demand for high-tech young talent around the world increases and developed countries unusually actively struggle to attract them at a moderate level.
European countries are prominent in importing high-tech manpower from around the world. They have focused on motivating the talented youth from developing and underdeveloped countries to work for them through attractive offers.
It is now imperative for Canada and the United States to take special measures to ensure regular and frequent recruitment of high-tech workforce. Along with changing the visa policy, concessions regarding accommodation are also being provided.
Freelancers were previously allowed to work in Canada for a maximum of six months on a visitor visa.
Isabelle Dubois, spokesperson for the Canadian Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, expressed hope that smart and talented high-tech workers from around the world will be able to stay in Canada and find employers here, while benefiting from the concessions and facilities provided by Canada
