Officials said that 2% of passengers coming from abroad will be tested for COVID-19 at airports.

Islamabad: The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) decided to conduct COVID testing of passengers coming from abroad.
According to the officials of the National Institute of Health (NIH), NCOC has decided to conduct corona testing of 2% of passengers coming from abroad, with the aim of preventing the new variant of corona, JN1, which has spread around the world.
Officials said that 2% of passengers coming from abroad will be tested for COVID-19 at airports. Rapid diagnostic kits for COVID testing will be provided by the NIH as there are no diagnostic kits are available at most major airports in the country.
The officials added that no case of the new variant of Covid-19 has been reported in Pakistan so far, but the advisory may increase the pressure on Out Patient Departments (OPD) and wards of hospitals.
