Most cases of missing persons reported from KP: Commission
The report states that 260 cases of Punjab, 163 of Sindh, 1336 of KP, 468 of Balochistan, 55 of Islamabad and 15 of Azad Kashmir are pending in the commission.
Islamabad: The Missing Persons Commission has submitted all the details to the Attorney General regarding the missing persons following the court order.
According to the report of the Missing Persons Commission, the highest number of 3485 cases of missing persons were reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to mischief and drone attacks, while 2752 cases of enforced disappearance of citizens were received from Balochistan.
The report states that going abroad without informing the family about the war situation is also a reason for forced disappearance cases.
According to the report, 744 production orders were issued to present the missing persons, of which only 52 were implemented.
692 production orders issued by the commission were not implemented by the relevant authorities, while 182 applications were submitted by the police and sensitive institutions to review the production orders, while 503 of the unexecuted production orders are from KP.
The report further states that from March 2011 to December 2023, 4413 missing persons returned their home. 994 missing persons are imprisoned in various detention centers and 644 missing persons are imprisoned in various prisons of the country.
According to the report, the bodies of 261 missing persons were found from March 2011 to December 2023. The commission dismissed 1477 cases as not forced disappearances, declaring them of kidnapping for ransom, personal grudge or spontaneous disappearance.

According to the report, there are a total of 35 officers and employees posted in the missing persons commission and their monthly salaries are more than Rs1.5 million. The head of the commission Javed Iqbal has been appointed for Rs674 thousand, while member Zia Parvez for Rs829 thousand and the commission members Amanullah Khan for Rs1.139 million and Sharif Virk takes Rs263 thousand per month.
