It is to be noted that Pakistan team has failed to qualify for the Olympics for the third time in a row.

Lausanne: Pakistan national hockey team has moved up a notch to 15 number in the world ranking. According to the International hockey Federation (FIH) the top three teams are Netherlands, Belgium and India while Pakistani team's number is 15.
According to the details, Pakistan hockey team has ascended one place in the FIH rankings, landing at 15th after their recent participation in the Paris Olympics qualifiers held in Muscat, Oman.
However, the team's captain Ammad Butt said that the players have not received their salaries from the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for the previous six months.
Ammad showed gratitude to the fans for their unfluctuating support and shed light on the challenges faced by the players. He highlighted the shortage of facilities and government support, emphasizing the shortfall of sponsorship, media coverage, and a proper professional system for the past decade.
It is worth noting that Pakistan fell short in their bid for Olympic qualification, losing to New Zealand in the 3/4 place match of the qualifiers. The road to Paris 2024 was blocked by Germany, who secured a 4-0 victory in the semifinals after a crucial 3-3 draw against Malaysia.
Despite the setback, the Green Shirts managed to secure a victory against China in the competition after losing their opening game to Great Britain. The team finished the pool matches with four points, falling behind Great Britain (nine points) in Pool A, while Malaysia concluded with one point and China with three.
It is to be noted that Pakistan team has failed to qualify for the Olympics for the third time in a row.
