The petition stated that Shamshad Akhtar is also a member of boards of other departments besides the federal minister.
Karachi: A petition has been filed against the Federal Caretaker Minister for Finance Shamshad Akhtar in the Sindh High Court (SHC).
According to the details, Umar Khalid, a resident of the Defense Housing Authority (DHA), stated in the petition that Shamshad Akhtar is also a member of boards of other departments besides the federal minister, and is getting grants from various institutions.
During the hearing, the petitioner's lawyer Asim Iqbal Advocate said that an explanation should be sought that under what law Shamshad Akhtar is doing this.
On which Justice Junaid Ghaffar replied that the federal minister was appointed in August, ‘You have come to the court late, we will notify, by till the issue is responded, the cabinet will be dissolved’.
The lawyer Asim Iqbal stated that the cabinet will be dissolved but the violation of law will remain in its place.
The court adjourned the hearing of the petition to February 13.
The President, Establishment Division, Cabinet Division, Stock Exchange, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and others have been made parties in the petition.
