Shab-e-Miraj being observed with traditional zeal and fervor

Lahore: Like the other parts of the Muslim World, Shab-e-Miraj, the holy night, is being observed tonight, with religious fervor and zeal.

The ulemas [scholars] and speakers are addressing the large gatherings organized at the mosques and other open places. The Muslims are paying homage to Holy Prophet Peace Be Upon him.
Shab-e-Miraj is a blessed night which has great significance in Islamic history and teachings. According to Holy Quran, Holy Prophet Peace Be Upon him traveled from Masjid al-Haram to Masjid al-Aqsa, where all the honorable prophets followed his lead in prayers, and then he ascended to the heavens. It is one of the known as miracles of the Holy Prophet Peace Be Upon Him. The sacred journey of Miraj is mentioned in the initial verses of Surah Al-Isra, Chapter 15 of the Holy Quran.
Namaz [prayer] was given on this night to the Holy Prophet for is Ummah. This is why the special gatherings and prayers are conducted this night. The Muslims recite Darood-o-Salam and recite Na’at Sharifs. People also seek forgiveness for their sins and pray for good.
