The petitioner pleaded with the court that if the name has been removed from the PNIL list, it should be restrained from being added to other lists also.


Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Tuesday issued a notice to the parties on the petition to remove the name of senior anchor and journalist Imran Riaz Khan from the Exit Control List (ECL) and sought their response on February 15.
According to the details, a hearing was held in the LHC on the miscellaneous petition filed to remove the name of journalist Imran Riaz Khan from the ECL. Justice Shujaat Ali Khan heard the petition of Imran Riaz Khan.
Imran Riaz Khan filed an application through the mediation of Advocate Azhar Siddique, in which it was held that there are reports that Imran's name has been removed from the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL), however now it has been added in ECL or Passport Control List (PCL).
The petition said that there is no First Information Report (FIR) filed against Imran Riaz, therefore putting his name in ECL or PCL is a violation of the Constitution, the said action is against Article 15 and 16 of the Constitution.
The petitioner pleaded with the court that if the name has been removed from the PNIL list, it should be restrained from being added to other lists also.
Later, the court issued a notice to the parties and sought their response on February 15.
