Jahangir Tareen's report is PTI’s internal matter, holds no legal status, says Barrister Ali Zafar
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Ali Zafar has said that he wanted to make it clear that Jahangir Tareen was not given a clean chit and Prime Minister Imran Khan would not give NRO to anyone.

Speaking with a local news outlet, he said that his report on PTI leader Jahangir Tareen was an internal matter of PTI and had no legal status.
The cases against Jahangir Tareen will continue and these reports may not be in written form.
“My inquiry will continue, I do not consider it appropriate to talk about the work assigned to me.”
Senator Ali Zafar claimed that he had met Jahangir Tareen, his legal and financial team in connection with this report but it is not suitable right now to give a clean chit.
He clarified that “According to the policy of Prime Minister Imran Khan, there is no place for corruption. I was given the responsibility to submit a report on the concerns of Jahangir Tareen to the Prime Minister.”
On the other hand, Raja Riaz, the leader of the Taren group and an angry PTI activist, said in a statement that Barrister Ali Zafar had submitted his report to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
At the direction of the Prime Minister, the task of inquiring into the matter was entrusted to an impartial person.
“Barrister Ali Zafar's report confirms our position, today we are happy.”
Raja Riaz further said that the report states that Jahangir Tareen is guiltless and some members of the party are conspiring against him.
The conspirators are hiding their faces today and are embarrassed.
He maintained that “When the FIA will receive the report, they will back down from their position.”
As per PTI MP, the Punjab government has also been appointed an officer to take care of the performance and the same person will also deal with all their issues.
Mr Tareen claims to have the backing of around 40 lawmakers -- over a two-dozen MPAs and 10 MNAs.
PM Khan, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had held separate meetings with this group and assured them of justice in Tareen’s case.
The FIA in March last had registered two FIRs against Jahangir Tareen and his son Ali Tareen under Rs5 billion money laundering and fraud charges in the sugar ‘scam’. Both are on interim bail till May 31.
The prime minister last month had formed a one-man committee comprising Barrister Zafar to ascertain whether the concerns that some persons holding key positions in the government and the PTI were politically victimising Mr Tareen, were genuine.
The Tareen group had named Shahzad Akbar behind victimisation of Tareen.
