Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaqat Ali announced to resign amid rigging in general elections’ results.

According to the Commissioner he admitted that he rigged in general elections’ results to make 13 candidates win who were losing the elections by the margin of 50,000 votes on the night of Fberuary 8.

Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chattha Saturday resigned from his post over election irregularities and decided to surrender before the police.

While holding a press conference at Pindi Cricket Stadium, Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta said that he has done injustice in Rawalpindi Division.

Liaqat Ali stated: ‘I accept the responsibility of election rigging in Rawalpindi division, I surrender myself to the police for election rigging’.

Commissioner Rawalpindi added that they have converted the defeated candidates into a lead of 50,000 and stabbed in the back of the country which does not let him sleep.

He also said that he was thinking of suicide amid pressure of overseas Pakistanis and social media then he decided to put forward the truth in front of everyone.

Liaquat Ali Chatta further stated that he should be hanged in Rawalpindi Kachhari Chowk. The Chief Election Commissioner and others responsible should be punished along with me, he added.

He continued to say that the Returning Officers (ROs) did not want to do this when he told them about the rigging in elections.

Commissioner Rawalpindi apologized to the Returning Officers under me that they did not want to be the part of this sin. When he told them that they have to do this, they cried and begged that they didn't want to do it under him.
