Another earthquake of 5.5 magnitude hit Gligit-Baltistan , other areas
The residents quickly came out of their homes soon as they felt tremors in their areas.
Gilgit: An earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude hit different parts of Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday.
It was another earthquake just two days after a 4.5 magnitude quake rattled the region.
The latest reports suggested that that a 5.0 magnitude earthquake shook several areas of Gilgit, prompting residents to quickly evacuate their homes in search of safety.
The quake's epicenter was located 45 kilometers southeast of the city, with a depth of 25 kilometers, as reported by the earthquake monitoring center.
Earlier, on February 19, a 4.5 magnitude earthquake hit various parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, particularly the Ghizer district, creating tremors across the region. The epicenter of this quake was reported to be along the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border, with a depth of 102 kilometers. Fortunately, there have been no reports of significant damage or casualties, providing relief to the affected communities, according to a private news channel.
The authorities are actively monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to any developments.
Besides it, a 4.9 magnitude earthquake, with a depth of 142 kilometers, was felt in different cities across Pakistan, including Chitral, Swat, Mardan, Upper and Lower Dir. People rushed out of their homes in these areas, seeking safety.
