During the election campaign before the February 8 elections, the leaders of the PPP criticized Ishaq Dar, for not managing the country's economic affairs well.

Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Monday agreed to appoint senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Senator Ishaq Dar as the finance minister.
During the election campaign before the February 8 elections, the leaders of the PPP criticized Ishaq Dar, who held the responsibilities of the finance minister in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government, for not managing the country's economic affairs in a better way.
Earlier in January this year, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had stated that keeping in view the current economic situation his party wants PML-N to name anybody for the candidate of Finance Minister except Ishaq Dar.
Ishaq Dar refrained from reacting to Bilawal Bhutto's statement and said that Bilawal is like his children and he will not comment on his statement.
In this regard, the senior leader of the PPP said that the PML-N is in the driving seat and it is their discretion as to whom they include in their cabinet.
The PP leader stated that they have never raised any objection against any person but they have raised objection on their policies.
According to the media reports, PPP stated that it was Ishaq Dar who on behalf of PML-N negotiated with the leadership of Peoples Party for government formation and he and his party have always had good political relations with them.
