Petition against Naqvi's appointment as Chairman PCB declared admissible
The Chief Justice said that you are saying that the caretaker prime minister did not have this authority.
Islamabad: The appointment of former Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi as the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), while the court reserved its decision on the admissibility of the application.
According to the details, Chief Justice IHC Aamer Farooq heard the petition filed against Mohsin Naqvi’s appointment as the Chairman PCB.
The Chief Justice Aamer Farooq asked the petitioner's lawyer that why does he think that Naqvi’s appointment was wrong?
On which the petitioner’s lawyer took a position that according to the constitution there is a difference between the elected and caretaker prime minister and the authority to appoint the chairman PCB is with the elected prime minister as Patron-in-Chief.
The Chief Justice said that you are saying that the caretaker prime minister did not have this authority.
Chief Justice IHC Aamer got angry when the petitioner's lawyer interrupted while writing the order and said that you are speaking while writing the order, let the order be written and wait for it.
Later, the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court Aamer Farooq reserved the decision on the petition being admissible. The court issued notices to Mohsin Naqvi and the Prime Minister through the secretary.
