A detailed briefing was given on 20,000 electric bikes and 657 eco-friendly urban bus projects in Punjab.


Lahore: The Punjab government Monday approved the plan to provide 657 eco-friendly buses for the best transport facilities in the major cities of the province.
According to the details, a transport project meeting was held for the convenience of citizens under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. A detailed briefing was given on 20,000 electric bikes and 657 eco-friendly urban bus projects in Punjab.
In the meeting, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz ordered the concerned authorities to prepare a school bus project for female students in every tehsil. She stated that it is the responsibility of the government to resolve the suffering of the people.
During the briefing, it was informed that in the first phase, diesel hybrid regenerated buses will be operated in other cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur, while the bike project will be launched from May 9 and the delivery will start.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to reduce the amount of advance for the students that the people are facing economic difficulties, the government will have to bear the burden.
