SC issues written decree on harassment of journalists’ case
The court ordered to submit the detailed answer before the next hearing of this case and postponed it till March 25.
Islamabad: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued written decree on harassment of journalists’ case.
According to the details, this decree consisted on four pages has been written by chief justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.
It is stated in the decree that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and police’s reports are not satisfactory regarding the attacks on journalists. FIA and police submitted the detailed reports again.
In the written decree, neither SC nor registrar has said to act against any journalist. The judiciary’s name has been used in a wrong manner in the notices which have been issued by FIA to journalists.
Amid to FIA’s notices the wrong message has been conveyed like SC is acting against journalists. The sponsors have been issued notices on the plea of press association of SC. Press association’s lawyer had objectified on judicial investigation team.
Lawyer Salahuddin said that secret agency’s people cannot be included in judicial investigation team. He mentioned a first information report on a journalist in which wrong sections have been imposed.
Attorney general admitted the wrong sections in first information report. The court ordered to submit the detailed answer before the next hearing of this case and postponed it till March 25.
