According to details, the travelers taking direct flights from red list nations will now transit through Terminal Three.

The decision has been taken to protect people from risk of new variants.

There are 43 countries on the red list but direct flights are permitted from only a few of them. Only British and Irish nationals or UK residents are allowed to travel from countries on the list.

People who have been on the red-list previous 10 days, whether they took a direct flight or came via another country, are required to pay for quarantine in a hotel for 10 nights after their arrival.

However, there has been concern at reports that travelers from red list areas were mixing with other passengers in immigration halls, where they could be waiting for several hours on occasion.

Dozens of countries are on the red list, including Pakistan, India, Turkey, Brazil and South Africa.

Britain eported 3,383 new cases of COVID-19 with one new death in last 24 hours. The total number of people who had received the first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine was up to 39,379,411, the figures showed.
