Polling starts on senate’s seats for elections in Punjab
On minority’s seat, PML-N’s candidate Khalil Tahir Sindhu and SIC’s Asif Ashiq is candidate.
Lahore: The Polling has started on senate’s five seats for elections in Punjab.
According to the details, the polling will be conducting in Punjab assembly on minority’s one seat, two seats of technocrat and two seats of women. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) will be competing today (Tuesday) for senate’s five seats in Punjab.
On PML-N women’s seat, Anusha Rehman and Bushra Anjum Butt are candidates. On SIC women’s seat, Sanam Javed is also a candidate while on Pakistan Peoples party (PPP) women’s seat, Faiza Malik surrendered.
However, on technocrat’s seat PML-N’s Muhammad Aurangzeb and Musadik Malik are candidates. SIC’s Yasmin Rashid is a candidate on the seat of technocrat.
On minority’s seat, PML-N’s candidate Khalil Tahir Sindhu and SIC’s Asif Ashiq is candidate. Polling time has started for elections on senate’s 30 seats of Parliament’s house.
Polling will be continued from 9am to 4pm. The 59 candidates are competing with each other in senate elections. On the other hand, the 18 candidates already got in without competing the senate elections. The election commission’s directions will be followed by the members.
