Under the action plan, 300 beds will be allocated for dengue patients in government hospitals of Peshawar.
Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has expressed fear of dengue outbreak in the province after recent rains and floods.
In view of the fear of dengue spread due to the recent rains and floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial health department has prepared an action plan for the prevention of dengue and sent it to the chief secretary for approval. Meanwhile, instructions have also been given to establish a dengue control room in the Directorate General of Health Services.
According to the action plan, attention will be paid to timely destruction of dengue larvae and 1,240 beds will be allocated in government hospitals for dengue patients.
Under the action plan, 300 beds will be allocated for dengue patients in government hospitals of Peshawar, while separate wards will be allocated for dengue patients in MTI Hospital.
A dengue control room will also be established in the Directorate General of Health Services, while the services of the Local Government Department and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) will also be obtained for the prevention of dengue.
