The volume of rice exports from July to March 2024 was recorded at 2.690 billion dollars


Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) stated that the export of rice recorded an increase of 76.57 percent on annual basis during the current financial year.
According to State Bank data, the volume of rice exports from July to March 2024 was recorded at 2.690 billion dollars, which is 76.57 percent higher than the previous fiscal year.
According to the report, in the same period of the last financial year, 1.522 billion dollars of foreign exchange was earned from the export of rice. The volume of rice export in March was recorded at 355.44 million dollars which was 374.23 million dollars in February and 200.84 million dollars in March last year.
The released data suggested that in the fiscal year 2023, the country earned 2.10 billion dollars in foreign exchange from the export of rice.
In the first nine months of the financial year, the export volume of basmati rice was recorded at 631.33 million dollars, which is 45 percent more than the 435.53 million dollars of the same period of the previous financial year.
According to the report, the export volume of non-basmati rice in the first nine months of the financial year was recorded at 2.058 million dollars, which is 89.37% more than the 1.087 billion dollars in the same period of the previous financial year.
