The Prime Minister announced the privatisation of all government-owned enterprises except strategic state-owned enterprises


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Tuesday announced the privatisation of all government-owned enterprises except strategic state-owned enterprises.
A meeting of the Ministry of Privatization and Privatisation Commission was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. During the meeting, the Ministry of Privatisation presented the roadmap of the privatisation program 2024-2029.
The Prime Minister announced the privatisation of all government-owned enterprises except strategic state-owned enterprises.
Shshbaz Sharif said that except strategic state-owned enterprises, all other state-owned enterprises will be privatized. All government-owned enterprises, whether in profit or loss, will be privatised.
He directed all the federal ministries to take necessary action and cooperate with the Privatisation Commission.
The premier stated that the government's job is not to do business but to ensure a friendly environment for business and investment and to provide facilities and ease.
Prime Minister added that privatisation will save taxpayers' money and will help in improving the quality of service delivery. Transparency should be given top priority in the process of privatisation.
