Kisan Card registration commences in Punjab
Maryam Nawaz added: “Farmers will be given production loans of 300 billion rupees annually"
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Tuesday said that the registration of Kisan Card has been started for farmer across the province.
In one of her messages regarding the commencement of Kisan Card registration, Chief Minister Punjab stated that applicants should send a message to 8070 by writing ‘PKC Space’ and identity card numbers from their mobile phones for registration.
Maryam Nawaz added: “The prosperity of farmers and increase in production is our commitment. Farmers will be given production loans of 300 billion rupees annually, every farmer will be able to get easy loan up to Rs0.15 million for one crop. The farmer will be able to purchase fertilizer, seeds and other agricultural inputs using Kisan Card”.
She continued to say that 0.5 million farmers will benefit from Kisan card. The farmers owning up to 12 and a half acres of land will be eligible for Kisan card registration. For Kisan card the land must be registered in the land record center and the farmer's mobile sim must of registered on his own ID card number.
The identity card of the farmer will be verified from the NADRA records. The farmer should not be in default of any financial institution. The farmer will repay the easy installments of the interest-free loan in six months, after which the farmer will be eligible to apply another loan for the next crop, stated the Chief Minister.
