Lahore: The Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Wednesday launched the Traffic Response Unit in Lahore.

On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz inspected the traffic response unit bikes and inquired about the conversation, training and other matters with the warden. She also observed the message through public address in case of traffic jam.

After the launch of the traffic response unit, a special meeting was held on traffic management under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. She set a deadline to improve the flow of traffic in Lahore. Maryam directed to provide alternative place for carriages.

Maryam also directed to ensure lane line discipline and conduct an awareness campaign to for rickshaw and motorbikes. During the meeting, the implementation of Intelligence Traffic Signal Management System in Lahore was reviewed, while effective and sustainable planning was directed to eliminate encroachment on the roads.

In the meeting, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Ammara Athar while giving a briefing said that the special traffic response unit will reach the traffic jam area on 15 calls. The special unit consisting of 50 heavy bikes and 100 wardens have been trained especially who will take immediate action to clear the traffic.

The CTO further said that the traffic response unit was also given a first aid course from Red Crescent. The public address system and first aid box will also be installed on each motorbike, the traffic warden will also record through a special camera.
