IHC declares Sanam’s arrest illegal, disposes of petition
The Attorney General said that the Balochistan Police is not requesting PTI activist's transit remand, she is now free and can go to her province
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Thursday declared the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed illegal and dismissed the petition for release.
According to the details, Justice Hassan Aurangzeb of IHC heard the petition regarding the arrest of Sanam, during which Attorney General and Mian Ashfaq Advocate appeared in the court on behalf of Javed.
The Attorney General, giving arguments during the hearing, said that the Balochistan Police is not requesting PTI activist's transit remand, she is now free and can go to her province.
In his arguments, the Attorney General further said: “I saw on the social media that Sanam Javed uses very inappropriate language”.
After hearing the arguments, Justice Hassan asked Sanam's lawyer Mian Ashfaq for the guarantee that she will not speak inappropriately again. To which the lawyer assured the court that Sanam would not use inappropriate words in the future.
Later, after hearing the arguments from the court, Sanam Javed's arrest was dismissed as illegal.
