The hike in railway fares will be implemented from July 19


Lahore: The increase in petroleum prices started to affect the railways also as Pakistan Railways has once again increased the fares of passenger and freight trains.
The railway administration has increased the fares of freight trains by two percent and passenger trains by one percent, according to the notification issued.
The hike in railway fares will be implemented from July 19.
It is pertinent to note that the government had plunged the price of petrol by Rs9.99 per litre. After which the new price of petrol increased from Rs265.61 to settle at Rs275.60 per litre.
Similarly, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs6.18 and the new price has increased from Rs277.45 to Rs283.63 per litre. While the price of kerosene was increased by Rs1.83.
