PDMA spokesperson stated that monsoon rains are expected in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi


Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has predicted heavy rains in most districts of Punjab.
According to the details, the PDMA spokesperson said that rains with strong winds and thundershowers are expected across the province, adding that the spell of monsoon rains is likely to continue till July 20.
PDMA spokesperson stated that monsoon rains are expected in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi.
According to the PDMA, the flow of water in the rivers of Punjab including River Indus, Chenab, Ravi, Jhelum, and Sutlej is at a normal level.
The spokesperson of PDMA said that the water level in Mangala Dam is 55 percent and Tarbela Dam is up to 72 percent. The water level in Indian dams on Pakistani rivers is up to 38 percent.
Director General PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia instructed the concerned institutions to be alert and that the administration of big cities should complete the advance arrangements.
Irfan Ali Kathia issued instructions that citizens should avoid unnecessary crossing of rivers and canals, and maintain distance from electric wires and poles, adding that PDMA control room is monitoring the situation 24 hours a day.
