PPP also files review petition on reserved seats decision
PPP said in its appeal that PTI has been allotted seats without asking for it
Islamabad: After the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) also filed an appeal to review the decision of the Supreme Court regarding reserved seats.
On behalf of the Peoples Party, Farooq H. Naik filed a review appeal in the Supreme Court.
The PPP said in its appeal that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been allotted seats without asking for it.
In its review appeal, the Peoples Party has requested to withdraw the July 12 decision of the Apex Court on reserved seats.
It is pertinent to note that earlier, PML-N had filed an appeal to review the decision on reserved seats, while no decision has been taken by the government in this regard.
Supreme Court Decision
On July 12, the Supreme Court upheld the petition of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) regarding the reserved seats and annulled the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Peshawar High Court (PHC).
The court has ordered to give reserved seats for women and minorities to PTI.
