Stability not possible in Pakistan with stolen elections: Khaqan Abbasi
As long as the country does not adhere to the Constitution, its problems will remain unsolved
Karachi: Pakistan Awam Party leader and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqaz Abbas on Saturday has criticized the current state of affairs in the country, stating that stability cannot be achieved in a nation where elections are stolen.
Addressing a ceremony held in Karachi, he emphasized that as long as the country does not adhere to the Constitution, its problems will remain unsolved.
"The real issue is not with Independent Power Producers (IPPs); it's with the failure of our economy," he remarked, pointing out the government's inability to manage the situation effectively.
Former premier further suggested that after trying every system in the world, it's time to give the Constitution a chance.
He also highlighted how the public has been distracted by the IPP issue, while a looming water crisis is being ignored.
"We need to find solutions to these problems," he urged.
Abbasi expressed concern over the growing trend of young people leaving the country, indicating a deep-rooted disillusionment among the youth with the current state of the nation.
