PM’s aide says Faiz Hameed's signatures are on the agreement related to the Faizabad sit-in, and certainly, these matters would be part of the inquiry
Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's Advisor on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Monday said that the decision to detain Faiz Hameed and initiate court-martial proceedings would be a milestone in enhancing the respect and honor of the Pakistan Army.
In an interview with a private TV channel, Rana Sanaullah mentioned that certain things against Faiz Hameed must have been proven, which is why he has been taken into military custody.
He further explained that the court-martial process would proceed according to military procedures. Faiz Hameed's signatures are on the agreement related to the Faizabad sit-in, and certainly, these matters would be part of the inquiry. He noted that people were managed and placed at the Faizabad sit-in.
He added that Faiz Hameed played a role in mobilizing people for the Faizabad sit-in. The Supreme Court's order was specifically related to a housing society, and an inquiry was conducted regarding it. Rana Sanaullah said, “We should limit our focus to that aspect,”.
Rana Sanaullah also mentioned that multiple irregularities likely came to light in connection with the housing society.
“If inquiries into other matters have taken place, the details will eventually emerge. We should restrict ourselves to the statement issued by the ISPR, as this step will serve as a milestone in upholding the respect and honor of the Pakistan Army,” he added.
