PDMA Issues flash flood alert for South Punjab

Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab issued a warning on Sunday, alerting that heavy rains could trigger hill torrents and flash floods across various districts of South Punjab.

A PDMA spokesperson informed that intense rainfall in the Koh-e-Suleman range has already created a flood-like situation in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur. Medium-level floodwaters are currently sweeping through the Rajanpur areas of Kaha, Chachar, Patok, and Zangi due to the flowing hill torrents.

A high-level flood current is also passing through the Kala Bagh due to hill torrent in Rajanpur.

The Director General of PDMA further noted that a high-level flood is coursing through the drains of Sakhi Sarwar in Dera Ghazi Khan. Both the PDMA and local authorities are on high alert, closely monitoring the evolving flood situation driven by these hill torrents.
