International Day of Yoga 2021 is being observed on Monday (today), carrying the theme ‘Yoga for well-being’.

People all around the world are marking the seventh International Day of Yoga. But celebrations have been scaled down this year due to the coronavirus outbreak.
International Day of Yoga is celebrated with much fervor every year on June 21.
The day is an event of a global scale and it preparations usually begin 3 to 4 months prior, ultimately culminating in a grand programme where millions of people come together to observe the spiritual history and significance of the day.
As the world is presently experiencing Covid lockdowns due to which millions had to stay indoors. However, experts say yoga can be helpful in such scenarios to overcome anxiety.
The United Nations (UN) declared in 2015 that 21 June every year will be marked as the Yoga Day. It said yoga can promote the holistic health of every individual amid the pandemic.
People in several parts of the world are also marking the day.
