First flight from Baghdad airport to bring Pakistani pilgrims back home left for Karachi late at night carrying 375 pilgrims


Karachi: 375 Pakistanis stranded in Iraq reached Karachi from Baghdad.
Out of the 654 Pakistani pilgrims stranded at Baghdad Airport, the rest of the pilgrims are expected to arrive in Karachi after 3:00pm today on the second flight. The first flight from Baghdad airport to bring Pakistani pilgrims back home left for Karachi late at night carrying 375 pilgrims which reached Karachi early in the morning.
It is pertinent to note that flights bringing pilgrims from Baghdad, Iraq to Pakistan were canceled due to which many pilgrims were stuck at Baghdad Airport.
On the issue of Pakistani pilgrims being stranded at Baghdad Airport, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain contacted Pakistani Ambassador to Iraq Zeeshan Ahmed and instructed him to ensure the safe return of Pakistanis stranded at Baghdad Airport.
