Maryam Nawaz orders to ensure early drainage of rainwater
Chief Minister stated that all resources should be utilised
Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif put the relevant departments on high alert in view of the fear of urban flooding.
Maryam Nawaz also ordered the Dera Ghazi Khan administration to remain on alert because of the risk of river wells and floods in the Mount Sulaiman area.
She said that arrangements should be made for early drainage of rainwater from the low-lying areas of other cities including Lahore. The rainwater should not be visible on the roads and streets for a long time.
Chief Minister stated that all resources should be utilised. The district administration, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Rescue 1122, and other organisations should be ready for emergencies, the traffic wardens should be present to maintain traffic flow during rains.
