Authorities of Commissioners and DCs have been increased in the context of development schemes


Lahore: A notification has been issued for the approval of further increase in the powers of departments, commissioners, and Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in Punjab.
The Punjab Finance Department issued a notification to increase the financial powers. The authorities of Commissioners and DCs have been increased in the context of development schemes.
According to the notification, the Punjab Delegation of Financial Power Rules 2016 has been amended. After nearly 23 years, the sanctioned amount for DC schemes has been increased from Rs50 million to Rs100 million. While the scheme approval amount of the Divisional Commissioners has been approved to be increased from Rs200 million to Rs400 million.
The notification further stated that the departments have been empowered to increase the sanctioned amount of development schemes from Rs400 million to Rs800 million. The financial bracket has been increased in view of the increase in the cost of development schemes due to rising inflation.
