Request to delay the decision of the intra-party elections in the reserved seats was also rejected
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Friday rejected all four different petitions of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the intra-party case.
According to the details, the Election Commission has issued a 10-page decision which is written by Sindh member Nisar Durrani.
Apart from this, PTI's objection to the jurisdiction of the Election Commission in the intra-party elections was also rejected.
The request to delay the decision of the intra-party elections in the reserved seats was also rejected.
The Election Commission also directed the PTI to approach the court for the return of the documents taken from the party office by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
It has been stated in the judgment that according to Section 208 of the Election Act 2017, it is the responsibility of the Commission to review the legal requirements of intra-party elections.
It is pertinent to note that on August 27, the Election Commission had reserved its decision on the request of the PTI to keep the case in abeyance until the Supreme Court's clarification in the intra-party election case.
