PM Shehbaz Sharif will address opening ceremony of international conference


Islamabad: World leaders are continuing to arrive in Islamabad to attend a two-day international conference on girls’ education titled ‘Girls’ Education in Muslim Societies: Challenges and Opportunities’.
According to the details, Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai has arrived in Islamabad for the conference. Upon her arrival, Parliamentary Secretary for Education Farah Akbar Naz warmly welcomed her and a book was also presented to Malala Yousafzai on the occasion.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will address the opening ceremony of the international conference to be held in Islamabad. A large number of Islamic scholars from Muslim countries have also arrived in Pakistan for the ceremony.
Egypt’s Grand Mufti Dr Nazir Muhammad Ayyad is also in Pakistan to attend the conference. He announced the opening of a campus of Al-Azhar University in Pakistan in a meeting with Federal Education Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui yesterday.
This is the second major international event to be held in Islamabad in recent months. Earlier, the Pakistani government had also hosted the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference, which was attended by the Indian Foreign Minister and other heads of state and foreign ministers of the region.
