Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that Imran Khan is not the custodian of Pakistan’s nuclear assets.

While talking to media outside court in Islamabad, Maryam Nawaz said that Imran Khan is not an elected premier and he has been installed in the country.
“We have given immense sacrifices to make Pakistan an atomic country. The elected premiers like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif have contributed towards making Pakistan a nuclear power. Pakistan’s atomic program is the guarantor of people’s security,” she said adding that had Pakistan not been a nuclear power, it would have been facing several challenges.
She was responding to PM’s statement where he said that there will no longer be any need for nuclear deterrents once Kashmir issue is resolved.
Referring to Prime Minister’s stement on women's dressing and the corresponding rise in sexual violence in Pakistan, Maryam said that Imran Khan has yet again shown people what kind of repulsive thinking he has.
“What else can you expect from someone who terms a criminal responsible and a rapist oppressed? Did Zainab or that woman on motorway were raped because they wore obscene clothes? This is a pure criminal thinking and we need to get rid of it as soon as possible,” she said.
Criticizing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) led government, she said, “Your third budget was presented by fourth finance minister. This government has no plans whatsoever and every sector under PTI is falling apart.”
